The Atrium Lobby - Mirage

The lobby at the Mirage has an atrium that has some beautiful waterfalls and some lovely flowers.
More flower arrangements and waterfalls.
I liked the orchids hidden in the greenery. It's interesting to note that there is a restaurant and bar on the other side of the waterfall. Okay well maybe you had to be there.

The Secret Garden

We took a tour through Sigfried and Roy's Secret Garden at the Mirage. We thought this tiger was looking a little under the weather.
The male lion protects the kingdom while the female hunts and gathers. She was actually back in the back of the cage taking a nap. But all the male did was pace back and forth. No one was going to get past him!
This isn't a great shot because of the fence.
There are dolphins at the Secret Garden as well as lions, tigers, and leopards. This dolphin would swim up the the ledge and do a complete 360 spin, look up at us and then dive back into the water. It was really funny! Every time he did it the trainer threw him a fish. After the trainer left he never came back to do his spin.
Dolphins are so much fun!

Venturing Off the Strip

Limo Man and I drove off the strip to go exploring. We almost stayed at the Red Rock Resort so we decided to take a drive out to see what it was like. Good grief were we ever disappointed! Their website makes it appear that you can leave the resort and go hiking in Red Rock Canyon, so you'd think the resort was tucked into the red rock hills. Not so!
The Red Rock Resort is actually on the corner of Charleston Ave. which is an extremely busy thoroughfare and the 215 freeway. You'd have to take a hell of a hike to get to Red Rock Canyon. In fact it's about 4-6 miles up the road. Boy were we glad that we didn't stay there! But I understand from a co-worker that they have a killer international buffet...
Here we are on the way out to Red Rock Canyon...
The hills are all different shades of red.
Why this guy even painted his home to blend in to the hills. I'll bet he went out and hauled some red rock home and crushed it up and then added water and painted his house. Yeah, that's what he did....
Here's a cave that we found but you couldn't get any closer to explore.
Welcome to my kingdom!
More red rock.
This set of boulders didn't exactly look the most secure and Limo Man always has to climb big rocks when it's windy. Nover mind that my knees get all jelly like and I very calmly have to ask him to get down. He's such a daredevil.

Las Vegas Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......

Limo Man and I had a great time in Las Vegas. We had a lovely suite at the Mirage that was bigger than our townhouse.
These photos are in no particular order so here is the hidden T.V. at the foot of the bed.
This is a look at the suite from the bar down to the bedroom. You can see that it has a living room and a dining area. NICE....
I love to see Limo man relaxing. He deserves it!
We had a two sink vanity. The bathroom was huge.
Limo Man likes to make sure that I have a spa tub. It's so nice to be spoiled!
This is the bar area. You need a bar to get your drink on!
Another view looking from the bar down the suite.
This view is looking out of the bedroom. I almost feel like I'm working for Vegas.com....well I could...nope never mind.
looking in the living room from the dining area.
Here's the front doors into the suite. We even had a button inside that lit up a sign ouside the door that said "Please do not disturb". That was pretty cool.

The mysterious package on the front porch.....

Not too long ago I got home and found this mysterious looking package from Tyler and Marjean.

I didn't open it and when Limo Man got home he wouldn't open it either.

We think we know what's in it and so that's why we won't open it.

It's gotta be the UGLY shirt and if you don't know the story of the UGLY shirt you soon will.

We don't want possession of it again so don't be surprised if you continue to see the package in different settings. Why we even named it "Eubie" which is actually "U.B. - Unopened Box".

We're Off....

To Las Vegas tomorrow morning.
I am really looking forward to getting away with Limo Man for a few days.
He needs a little R&R! Oh and some good eats and good drinks as well...

We'll take pictures of this trip and post when we get back.
We're trying out a new hotel this time. We'll be staying at the Mirage.
Usually we stay at the MGM Grand but this is going to be a whole new adventure.

Oh and did I say that we are driving over? I'll let you know how that goes when we get back.
