We're Leaving for Las Vegas!

Sunday we get to go into the desert for Limo Man's 59th birthday bash. Yes my man loves a trip into the desert in August. The temps should be 100+ but we have a pool baby.
Pictures of the trip to come.....

July 18th- TRAIN at the Orange County Fair

Limo Man gave me Train concert tickets for Valentine's Day this year. Only thing is....the concert wasn't until July 18th.
This is the backdrop on stage for the band. The beginning of the concert was the sound of a train rolling down the tracks. It was awesome!!!!
Jimmy Stafford is the lead guitarist for the band and that's Scott Underwood on the drums.
The lead singer for the band is Pat Monahan. He has got to be one of the best singers ever!
Pat is great at audience participation. He saw this big banana in the crowd and had the guy who won it for his girl come down on stage. Then he sang a song to the girl. She was in heaven.
Here's another shot of Jimmy Stafford the lead guitarist. He started a Wine Club so if you're interested check out the Train Wine club. He has a great blog.
Part of the VIP package that Limo Man gave me was a meet and greet backstage with the band. Pat is signing our picture and Limo Man is cutting up with Scott and Jimmy.
These guys were so nice to take the time for their fans.
God we love these guys!

Friday A.M. / Driving to Work on Pacific Coast Highway

It's Friday morning and I am driving up PCH to work and it's sprinkling. The sun is out but it's sprinkling. I had to get my cellphone out and take a picture of this rainbow. It was so pretty to see.
Oh and those dark spots are rain and dirt on the windshield.
Even with all the crazies out there on the road it's soooooo nice to see the ocean on the way to and from Long Beach.

Something to Ponder

On the way home from work yesterday there was a silver honda in front of me that had a license plate frame that said the following:

If you're gonna ride my ass...at least pull my hair!

I couldn't stop laughing about that one.
Does that make me sick or something?

My trek to the parade

I walked most of the way to the parade and the first event that I came to was the annual pancake in the park breakfast.
Once I hit Main Street I wanted to get a shot of the outrageous decorations that people use to hold their spots for the parade viewing.
There is a marathon first thing in the morning on the 4th and here were a few of the last to finish. Well at least they finished! It's more than I can say for me...
These guys weren't about to bother with any little cheap plastic chairs. No sir, just move the living room outside. It's all about comfort when you are watching the parade with a cold one.
The sign at this tiki bar says "Public Drunkeness Prohibited". Yeah right....
That's Stacy in the dark blue shirt. She is on the parade committee and was gracious enough to let me hang out in the VIP area of the viewing stands for the parade. Thanks Stacy, Sue, and Mike! It was great meeting all of you.
Oh and who is this fine looking gent? Why it's Limo Man of course! He rescued me and took me down to the VIP area so I could get some great shots of the parade.
I love this man!

I went to the annual Huntington Beach parade for the first time in 10 years

If you don't watch the T.V. sitcom "The Middle" you won't recognize this little cutie. He plays a character named Brick on the show and he is freakin' hilarious! His real name is Atticus Schaffer and if you don't follow the show at least give it a try. You will howl! Atticus was the teen grand marshall for the parade this year.Could we just do without the holy rollers?
A big thanks and lots of clapping for our military heroes!
Huntington's finest led the parade.
This guy just looked so happy (but don't you think he's a little old to be wearing a boy scout uniform?Huntington Beach Fire.
Sparky
The HB police chopper did a fly over at the beginning of the parade.
This drum corps was hot,hot,hot!
This was just so wrong on so many levels. I couldn't get a shot of these guys and gals from the front so I got the best rear shot I could. The costumes were one piece blue and gold velour.
I loved this mini jet. Wouldn't you love to drive to around in one of those?
No parade is complete without the clowns....
Jesse Sapolu was the sports grand marshall for the parade.
McGruff the crime dog was on the case.
These beautiful and courageous women were a bright spot in the parade. To all of you who have, are(or will) battle breast (or any other kind of)cancer I salute you!
This entry was the avatar float and what you are seeing is a young lady on a bar doing gymnastics. She is in an avatar costume and yes those are her feet at the top of the picture.
And here is another avatar cutie.
I couldn't resist taking a picture of father and son in their fur antler hats.
All in all it was a grand way to spend the 4th of July morning.

The 4th of July....The Lemmings Are Here....

There isn't a parking space in sight on the 4th of July. And it stays this way all the way into the next day. People come into Huntington for the annual 4th of July parade and usually stay at the beach all day and into the night for the fireworks down at the pier. It's the one day of the year that HB is actually invaded.

July 3rd...The Calm Before The Storm

This is what our street usually looks like on a Saturday afternoon.Very few cars in sight and a very quiet day.
