Setting Sail on the Carnival Spirit June 24th
We had a great time in Vancouver and Keith our bellman was kind enough to take us over to the cruise terminal in the pouring rain and get us hooked up. Thanks Keith!
I have always wanted to get a picture of the sails at the port of Vancouver from the water. Wow.
Ahhhhhhh.....Does it get any better than this?
It was raining all morning in Vancouver Wednesday morning. After we waited forever in line at customs and security we finally got on the boat and found our suite. This picture is off the balcony at the port of Vancouver.
Of course Limo Man had to get up before the break of dawn to see the Spirit sail into port. It must have been about 6:00am when the ship finally pulled in and Limo man got the first shot!

Vancouver B.C. (June 22-24)
Floatplanes were a big tourist attraction in Vancouver. We took a lot of shots of them taking off, landing and flying around.
The building below is part of the new convention center in Vancouver. That's real grass growing on it.
On just about every city corner were these eagle statues. They were all painted differently. They were really cool!
Here's Limo Man in relaxation mode. We were on a walkabout and ended up down at a park just above the marina.
We couldn't resist taking a picture of the "chickenhead" down at the marina. She was so funny!
Here's a few shots of the local architecture.
This hotel was right across the street from the cruise center. This picture was taken from our room at the Terminal City Club.

I'm Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
I was chosen in the first round of 18 jurors on Tuesday morning. So I had to go through all the judge's questions, and then the attorney's questions and after the first 7 jurors were excused I thought "Uh-oh" this is not good. I'm still here! So I resigned myself to being in Santa Ana Superior Court for a 3 week trial.
At the last minute the judge thanked and let 4 of us go. I don't remember when I have ever been so happy! It was like a release from prison.
Limo Man and I celebrated with a Haus of Pizza house special and some tequila.
Great to be back!

Jury Duty UGGGGHHH
It's bad enough to have to get up early on a Monday morning and go to work.
Maybe I shouldn't say that because after all I am blessed to have a job.
But this morning I had to get up extra early and go to Jury Duty. And that jury duty was at the Santa Ana Superior Court. UGH.
It's an awful drive and an awful area and there were people hacking and sniffing up all over the place and it was just an unpleasant experience.
Oh and did I mention that I get to go back tomorrow because they are going to begin picking a jury for a 15 day trial?
UGH.
Pray for me.

Friday Tragedy
Friday morning when Limo Man left to go to work the doves and the babies and the nest were intact. Between 4:40am and 7:00am when I leave to go to work we think that either an opossum or a cat got up on the plant stand and knocked the whole thing over. When I walked out the eggs were sitting in the dirt cracked. I was upset but didn't want to be late to work so I left everything the way it was. I didn't get a chance to take any pictures until I got home from work and by that time the eggs had been eaten.
Above here's what's left of the nest (and the mint plants).
This is what is left of the one egg.
Oh this just isn't good.
This is the first thing that I saw when I walked out the front door Friday morning. It just didn't look right. I was afraid something like this would happen. Nature can be pretty cruel.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACK DADDY!!!!!!
Today is my Dad's 79th birthday.
Wow, 79 years old and still going strong!
Limo Man and I know he'll have a great day because he and my "stepmom" Karen always do fun things for each other for their birthdays.
Here's to your birthday and best wishes for the next year Dad, may they be good to you and fill you with a sense of wonder.
The picture below is of Jack Daddy when he was a Major in the Air Force. (aka a Major stud)
Here's a picture of Jack Daddy in his flight suit and helmet. (aka helmet head)
I wish we lived a little closer so that I had some more updated pictures of Dad but maybe soon. We love and miss you Jack Daddy!
