Ewwwwwwwwww.....
We have a leaky balcony which leaks into the corvette room.
Little did we know just how bad it had gotten until recently.
The white stuff on the "floor" is residue from the water that dried.
And this is the damage to the drywall.
We have since had the drywall removed.
Next week we are having the balcony repaired and the drywall replaced.
Please say a prayer for us. We'll need it.

Sillyness.....
Don't ever give Limo Man girl scout cookies.
He gets all shades of silly!
And yes, I do have a wonderful life with built in entertainment!

The Hard Rock Hotel - San Diego
The Hard Rock hotel was our Valentine's Day destination. It was sure a nice hotel. We got to check in at the VIP check in because some guy in front of us was having credit card difficulties. The shot below is to the left of the door into our room. Mini bar and part of the couch.
Across from the couches is the flat screen and some Jetson looking chair.
The bathroom sink was outside of the shower. You can see the glass door to the right of the sink. This was the drying area outside of the shower. Note to self.....we want one of those!
The glass door to the right of the bedroom was across from the sink and shower and it's the restroom. The bed and pillows were heavenly!
We had dinner at Nobu that night. We had a terrible experience and now we call it Nomo' because we'll never go back. Even though we contacted the manager about our experience he tried to smooth things over by saying that the waiter never noticed any problem. Only thing is.....the waiter didn't come back to our table much at all....thus the problem. There were other tables that were seated after us and finished way before us and we got cold food and when they served us soup we didn't even get spoons. Not good.

More Coronado and Hotel Del
Sunday night we set out on a walkabout and had drinks at the Brigantine and continued down the street to one of our favorite places in Coronado. If you haven't been to the Night and Day Cafe it's time you tried it. This is Keith our chef for the evening. The cafe only has about 12-15 seats in it and when we walked in Keith was sitting at the counter reading the newspaper. He didn't look all that happy when we walked in and we didn't know what to expect but we had a blast with him. And he's a an excellent cook too!
Here's a shot of the dining room in our suite at the Hotel Del. And yes, that is a bottle of Silver Oak on the table.
The living room where Limo Man stretched out to relax.
Ahhhh, the boudoir, er, I mean the bedroom.
I couldn't resist taking a shot of this sign. It reminded us of two of our neighbors.
This guy showed up the next morning and just sat there as we opened the screen door to get a better shot. I think he was waiting for food.

Valentine's Day Get Away & A Life's Dream
On Sunday the 13th of February we drove down to San Juan Capistrano to get on the train to San Diego. We had breakfast at Sarducci's our favorite little restaurant right at the train station.
I thought we were staying at the Hard Rock hotel in downtown San Diego for 2 nights but Limo Man surprised me with a ferry ride to Coronado Island and a night's stay at the world famous Hotel Del Coronado. I couldn't resist getting a shot of the statue of a sailor and his cutie as we ferried over to the island.
We had a suite on the 3rd floor of the Victorian wing of the hotel and this was the view from our balcony.
I love to see this man relax. They actually had 2 chairs and a rocker on the balcony and Limo Man was in heaven in the rocker.
Our suite is just below the flagpole. You might be able to see the towel hanging there.
This is a shot of the hotel from the beach. If you ever get the chance to stay here you won't be disappointed. The Hotel Del exudes classical elegance and I felt like I was in a movie!
This is the Del's logo....this was actually the side of a trash bin.
We had to get shot of the chandelier in the lobby. This shot was taken on Valentine's Day as we were getting ready to go back to downtown San Diego.
Back in August I got a picture from Limo Man of the Hotel Del and have always wanted to stay there. Now that we have it's going to be tough to beat the experience. It was a life's dream come true! I love you Limo Man!
