This year I got a wonderful surprise for my birthday. My boyfriend (aka Limo Man) took me down to Balboa Bay Club for what I thought was drinks and dinner. Well, we did have a drink, then all of a sudden Limo Man starts waving at someone and says to me "Our ride is here". I was a little confused and he pointed to a Duffy boat down on the dock and said again "Our ride is here".
We got to take a tour of Newport Harbor in a brand new Duffy boat with the Admiral of guides, Carolyn. She gave us the best tour EVER of Newport Harbor. Limo Man had everything planned well in advance as usual: right down to the fine wine, snacks, bottled water, and CD's.
There was so much to see that we never got around to listening to any CD's but that's okay because we were too busy sightseeing.
If you have never taken a tour of Newport Harbor it is well worth it! There is so much history and so much cool stuff to see. The homes and the yachts are AWESOME!!!!
Thanks Limo Man. You are the BEST!!!! I love you SO!

It's a little late but.........
Back in early December the BEST Christmas party was held at Sea Legs Wine Bar in Huntington Beach. What a GREAT time we all had! It kind of looks like someone is trying to get away with some bubbly...
Oh wait, does Limo Man have a partner in crime? Why that must be Pam Anderson!!!!
No silly, not THAT Pam Anderson....And take a look at this cake. Is that not a thing of beauty?
I know this isn't a very clear picture but I couldn't resist getting a shot of this wine cork wreath. Perhaps I'll try that sometime in the future.
Check out the gifts for the gift exchange!
And YES, Ladies and Gentlemen, here is your emcee for the evening, Greg Garlich. Ticket caller extraordinaire with his lovely assistant Madison!!
And just so you know, Limo Man was the very first winner! No fix either!
It was a fabulous party and everyone had a great time! Thanks to the Vaughn family for such a great evening!

What in the world???
I'm baaaaaaack.....................
It's been a long time since I have blogged and I really don't have any excuse other than being lazy and uninterested. It's Spring so it's time to wake up and get back to it.
These shots are my reading nook. It's actually a small patio outside of each of our bedrooms upstairs. Thankfully it is glassed in so that when it rains we don't have water all over the place.
What a peaceful place to be!

Into the Desert.....
Limo Man always loves a trip into the desert in August.
It should be in the 106-110 range while we're there.
I understand that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas but....
Stay tuned!

San Diego......Ahhhhhhh.......
So here we are in San Juan Capistrano again. Getting on the train to go to San Diego. It's one of our favorite getaways! We are going to see "The Dukes of September Rhythm Review" at Humphrey's.
Here's Limo Man starting to decompress. Get me some coffee WOMAN!!!
The boats turned out pretty crappy in this picture but I like the silhouette of my bedhead against the marina.
Here's a little better look at the marina and some of the sailboats.
If you have never been to Humphrey's it's well worth the trip. They have some fabulous concerts and the rooms will make you feel like you are in the tropics somewhere! It's good stuff! And the concert we saw was FABULOUS!!! Michael McDonald, Boz Skaggs, and Donald Fagen. Need I say more?

More Austin.....
While we were in Austin we decided to take a bat tour. I must say it was a pretty unusual thing to experience. Fun but unusual. And very smelly. The bats migrate from Mexico to the Congress Avenue bridge every spring from March to November to have their babies. They fly out from under the bridge to go in search of food every evening. This picture below was on the corner of Congress Avenue and Barton Springs Road on Lady Bird Johnson lake.
I have to say that we had a GREAT time in Austin but the bat tour was a little cheesy. It was dark when the bats started flying out from under the bridge so we didn't really get to see much. The best time to go on the bat tour from what I understand is in August. And that's only if you can stand the 100 degree temps with the humidity.
