Aaaaah The Caymen's.....Heaven on Earth

Limo Man and I took a trip to the Cayman Islands with my entire side of the family plus my cousin Patrick.
We did a lot of snorkeling and our fair share of drinking. We actually got a bottle of cuban rum that you'll not see here in the states. It was the best sipping rum we've had. We had lots of good times and a few not so good (the owner of our condo double booked the place so we had to move out a night early). Needless to say we won't be calling that bitch ever again.
We left the island a day early. Our brother in law Mason and sister Mary got us the buddy passes and we even got to fly first class on the way to the islands. It was fabulous! All in all it was a great get away and we had fun spending time with the fams.
Notice the pirate ship behind Limo Man? It was really cool! Oh and those coconuts are real! REALLY!

Remember the Speed....

Okay so let me apolgize now because most of my posts are looking back.
But that's okay because history can always be revisited and I like to go back.
I'm sitting here listening to some old tunes on my I Pod while Limo Man is out driving. And that's okay because we actually got to spend a Friday night together last night.
It's always good to have a little barbeque and some libations. (Is there such a thing as a little barbeque?)

I decided to post a few pictures of Limo Man's racing experience at the Shrine. I took him out to Fontana to California Speedway so that he could drive a Winston cup car.
Needless the say that he loved it and the need for speed took over. Of course the guy riding with him didn't exactly love the speed so much because his signal to slow down was pulling on the driver's right pantleg.
As you can see by the picture on the right his pantleg is slightly higher than the other because Limo Man decided to put the pedal to the metal! The only thing that matters is that he had a good time!

The Story of the Hat.....

So a while back Limo Man drove Genie and Paul from Kiss to a Cisco bash and was given the "flames hat" that he is wearing in the very first post. We really couldn't figure out what we were going to do with it until we were invited to Chico for a family get together in Tyler's honor because he completed his MBA at Fresno State.
We decided that the hat needed to be bestowed to the graduate. I sewed a button on the top of it and Limo Man had a tassle from a graduation video shoot, so we designed the quintessential MBA hat and gave it to Tyler after his celebration dinner. Next to Tyler is his cutie wife Marjean.
The kid with the hat over his entire head is Limo Man's nephew Luke. Luke is one cool customer!
The cute couple in the middle picture are the graduate's proud parents Steve and Janet. The happy guy with them is Will John, maker of the best shiners around!
Needless to say it looked so good! And we all had fun with the hat!

Speaking of Janice and Dean...

Janice and Dean came to visit a while back. Okay it was a long while back. But I found these pictures and wanted to show them off. Janice is in the middle and Dean is on the right. Limo Man is on the left in the white shirt. We were on our way to the Magic Castle and decided to stop at Yamashiro's for a cold one.

Gabi Getter

Gabi Getter is our first grand niece. She is a delight and I miss seeing her. Her mom Kari sends me the greatest pictures.
Baby Gabi likes to hide her chips. She is so clever! This picture to the left is from last July.
The picture at the top right is at Gabi's first birthday party at the Folsom zoo in October. That's great grandpa Jack in the background, grandma Betty is in the coat, and Kari has Gabi in her arms. What a shot and what a crew!

Here's Me Not Being So Wonderful.....

No one said that a blog had to be funny, interesting, or upbeat. After all it's my blog and I can write what I want.

I was once asked "How do you stay with Limo Man when he works so much?"
My response was "We have a goal, and him working his second job has helped us get a lot of things that we wouldn't otherwise have, so I have to be patient and also because I love him."

Sometimes I don't feel patient and today is one of those days and here's why.....
Limo Man has been driving every night since last Saturday (oh yeah it's Saturday again) with the exception of one night when he needed to shop for a new suit. That took some time and it put him home late that night as well and he wasn't in the best of moods.

I usually consider myself a pretty patient person but today my patience has run out. And excuse me but here's me NOT being so wonderful.

In fact I am downright miserable, unhappy, mad, and sad. I miss my man and I miss spending time with him. Quality time, not just a pat when he gets home and a kiss when he leaves to go to either job. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have both but when that's the only communication other than the phone it starts to work my last nerve and at times I feel like I am being taken for granted.

After all, holidays, weekends, some weeknights (more lately) have had to be put on hold because Limo Man needs to drive his clients or make money for whatever new goal is in mind. I can't even plan a meal for the two of us to share because I never know when or if he'll be home. I understand the goal but it doesn't mean that I have to like the means to get to it all the time.

I don't want to feel like I am being driven away (see what I did there?)and that I don't matter in the grand scheme of things. Yes, I may be feeling sorry for myself but sometimes I get pushed to that point and yes I guess I can suck it up which I will have to do eventually but for now I'd rather have my own little pity party.

Perhaps I will be back tomorrow but until then Forgive Me.

St. Judes & Memphis

Limo Man and I went to Memphis Tennessee for the first annual brick ceremony at St. Jude's Children's Hospital. That's our brick at the top. We got to choose what we wanted the brick to say. If you are ever there our brick is just to the left of the front doors of the hospital. We got a tour of the hospital, had a fabulous dinner the night before the ceremony and got to see some of the kids who had been treated there and hear their success stories at St. Jude's. The day of the ceremony we all got to see our bricks outside of the hospital so of course we had to take pictures! Later that afternoon the hospital provided us with a killer Memphis barbeque lunch.
While we were there in Memphis we got to see a lot of the city and we visited Graceland, Staxx Records, and Sun Studios. We did a lot of walking in Memphis (now I can see why Marc Cohn wrote that song) because there was just so much history to see! We saw the Peabody Ducks, the Lorraine motel where Martin Luther King was assasinated, the Orpheum theater, the Fender guitar factory, and who could forget Hueys with all the frills! We also walked down to the Mississippi River and took a walk along the Riverwalk. Several of our walks were over to Beale street to get a cold one or to try one of the fabulous restaurants. What a town!

We even caught a Memphis Redbirds game. The park was right across the street from our hotel. We had such a great time in Memphis!
